In training with Derek, I noticed significant changes in my athletic ability. Every year working with him I saw improvements in my speed, strength, power and explosiveness. He creates programs specific to the athlete and the sport. Derek takes the time to listen and fully understand your goals and creates programs that translate directly onto the field. With every program I was able to surpass set goals and milestones in my training. Being able to be trained by a coach that played at an elite level of Canadian football gave me an incredible amount of knowledge and insight into being a successful athlete. I really appreciated Derek’s commitment and genuine interest in my success. He truly cares about every individual he works with.  I would highly recommend Derek to anyone that is looking to improve their athletic performance.

Derek Weber is a phenomenal strength and conditioning he was always hyped and making me work my hardest to improve. Derek wanted me to succeed and reach my goals. He was flexible with my schedule and did what was best for the both of us. He was very understanding of practices and games before a game we wouldn’t be lifting a max weight, it would be light and sharp. Derek was very educated in the styles and ways that we were lifting. Derek had great communication skills if he saw something was wrong, he would help fix it by helping you adjust. Working with Derek helped me play at my best.

I trained with Coach Weber for a 2 years before continuing to university and found him very easy to work with. Although training can often be tough both physically and mentally, Derek’s positive attitude and encouragement always made my training enjoyable.  He has helped me reach my goals as far as fitness and strength are concerned. Training with Derek is a game-changing experience. He always seeks to get the best out of all his athletes. Derek uses the latest in the science of human kinetics and tailors it to the individual athlete based on their goals, strengths, and weaknesses. He is very big on communication with his athletes, and it goes both ways. Not only does Derek provide very clear and easily understood feedback for maximizing results for every exercise, but he also regularly checks in with his athletes so that he can adjust training accordingly to get the best from athletes at their highs and lows. Derek’s training also includes mental performance, helping elevate athletes to the next level. Derek’s coaching has had a massive impact on my sports career, helping me take my performance to the university level.

Derek was my strength and conditioning coach for only 5 months before he moved to Nova Scotia but in that time, he had a lasting impact. The high energy, motivation, and passion that Derek brings to every session is contagious, and I think all athletes would agree that after a session with Derek they feel more energized and empowered than before they came. His knowledge of strength and conditioning had great results for me: as a triathlete, I have gone through many strength programs without ever knowing WHY I was doing what I was doing... this was where Derek provided clarity. The workouts he designed were specific to the goals that we had as triathletes, and as a result I feel stronger in swimming, biking, and running, and ready to race. At the beginning of our training, my group was not confident squatting or power-cleaning, but by the end we had increased our weight significantly and were more aware of the importance of power and speed in an endurance sport. I believe every athlete would benefit from training with Derek.
